Here are some customer reviews of Walk the Line : This album really exceeded my expectations. After seeing the movie the songs sounded a whole lot better. Let's face it, Johnny cash can never be duplicated. I believe Joaquin Phoenix did as good a job as anybody on earth could have done. Renee Witherspoon really captured June Carter's voice as well. If you want the real thing then buy the real thing like I have. The soundtrack does NOT have the best duet of the movie, 'Time's a Wastin' so make up your own mind if it's worth the price. The folks who are disappointed that the soundtrack isn't composed of actual Cash/Carter songs are missing the point. The fact that Phoenix and Witherspoon put the effort into singing the songs adds an authenticity to their performance that "lip synching" would never have allowed. I think their performance and the soundtrack are a fine tribute to Johnny and June. This is a great cd!! My favorite songs are I walk the line, Jukebox Blues, and Jackson!! Everyone should have this cd!! I bought this thinking it was the orginal Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash recordings. I'm not impressed with the actor's singing voices.
