Here are some customer reviews of
The Heat
: Toni Braxton's 3rd solo-album is a sign of a powerful return. She continues to be one of the leading stars of R&B. The most romantic track of the album "Spanish Guitar" and the 1st single "He wasn't man enough for me" are the most successful songs. If you have liked her previous album "Secrets", probably you'll enjoy "The Heat" too. Buy it now not to regret later :)
This album is according to me just as good as Toni's other albums, and her songs are just as passionate and personal as ever. This is really good, Toni!
It's been over four years since you last heard her voice and it's been too long of a wait if you ask me. The first time you hear "He Wasn't Man Enough" (the first single from the new album)you jump for joy at the thought of Toni finally returning; and believe me you can feel the heat. After listening to the album you can understand why she chose such a title. The album's uptempo beats laced with Toni's deep, seductive vocals leaves you with feeling the power of Toni's triumphant return. Glad to hear she's back because we've been waiting to feel the heat.
Not as good as the first, but it's an ok cd. I think this will be one of those cd's that has to grow on me.
Okay, all of the men out there (myself included)can breathe a collective sigh of relief and of melencholy as MISS Toni Braxton comes back at us with a new CD, but no longer as a single woman crooning songs of wretched heartache (thanks a lot, Keri). But, beside all that, I'm glad to say that if you're looking for a change from the usual hip-slop laden so-called female singers of today, take my advice and get this CD. Her sultry contralto makes love to the ballads, and easily lends itself to the danceable tracks "He Wasn't Man Enough", and even the suggestive "Gimme Some". I, as I'm sure many others, have waited 4 long years for this one, and I'm glad to say, she simply cannot disappoint. She's come through the fire, and has emerged as the proverbial Phoenix from the ashes, to bless us all once again with her talent and beauty. It's R&B/Soul at it's best, and will also find it's place among the "Quiet Storm" set. Sistawoman, thank you. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. This is one loyal follower and fan who is grateful for you, and to you.
