Here are some customer reviews of Shadows On The Sun :

Brother Ali is one of the best emcees out there today_ Just saw him in Hollywood at the Henry Fonda Theater on the 22nd with atmosphere, the show was ridiculous_ ali slug and a few others freestyled at the end and although I already held him in high esteem he even surprised me. Shadows is impressive to say the least, ANT's beats are insane on this album and I think that he meshes at least as good w ali than slug_ if you're an atmos fan then you'll love this album.

I JUST GOT THIS CD SHADOW OF THE SUN THIS YEAR, ACTULLY COPED IT AT THE SCRIBBLE JAM, ANY MIDWEST CAT'S IN HERE KNOW WHAT THAT IS, BUT ANYWAY I HAD THE CHAMPION EP FIRST AND EVER SINCE I HAVE BEEN BLOWED AWAY FROM THIS GUY, BUT SHADOW OF THE SUN IS BY FAR THE NICEST CD I EVER HERD SO ANY BODY WHO DOES NOT HAVE THIS CD GET IT IT IS WORTH HAVING.

Comin' from my home town, I was hopin' ali would bring some flavor to the rap genre, and he did. Definately a breath of fresh air, and an escape from commercial rap like the Diplomats, which aren't even laughable. Ali, a white-albino, raps fluently over tracks produced by Ant, and his lyrics are actually meaningful. "Depending on the day/ And depending on what I ate/ I'm anywhere from 20 to 35 pounds overweight/" This does get a little annoying after a while, as he preaches in nearl every track, but it's good stuff. Ant produces some of the tightest beats availible right now to give this album the extra edge. Definatley recomended to buy.

what a fantastic cd this is hip hop at its truest and rawest. i think that everyone should pick up this cd if u like underground rap like immortal technique or the roots.

Underground? This album sounds like its anything but underground. It is gritty enough for the streets, but has beats any hip hop fan would like. Brother Ali's lyrics are some of the deepest and most truthful you will ever hear on a hip hop album.
