: i have every atmosphere cd to date. and seven's travels was the most disappointing. slugs lyrics are up to par, but some of ant's beats are too commercial sounding. if your a true atmosphere fan you'll still pick it up, but i don't think it compares to the other cds.
 at first i hated this cd, comparing it to bazooka tooth (great artists come out with a cd, then on the album after they blow up they completely change their style of production to burrow themselves back into the underground) however, after a few listens i realized that slug's more simple verses have begun to mean more, and ant's more complex production has done likewise. this is a really musically and lyrically rich album, a definite must-have.
After all of these years the combo of Slug and Ant is a potent as ever. For all who say that Lucy Ford was the last hot album, you must not be listening to the music like the other 99% of Atmosphere fans are. On the mic slug is undisputed that also goes for Ant's production. This is a lethal album that all Hip Hop heads should purchase, Seven's Travels has the capabilities to program your circuitry. As all Atmosphere albums, Seven's Travels is the Scarface of Hip Hop, another classic. If you dig real music buying this album will not be a mistake. 100% approval rating from The Heartland.  THIS ALBUM WAS VERY DISSAPOINTING. THERE ARE A FEW COOL TRACKS, BUT FOR THE MOST PART THIS ALBUM IS CRAP. SLUG DELIVERS SOME ILL LYRICS FROM TIME TO TIME, BUT THE PRODUCTION IS SUB PAR.
Atmosphere's new album "Seven's Travels" is Atmosphere's best record since LUCY FORD. After a dissapointing GOdlovesugly album Slug and Ant come with some great hip hop songs. Slug's lyrics is more deep and as way more detail then ever, and Ant is coming off a great job producing a great Brother Ali album, and sets the pace for Seven's travels to perfection. Slug still be on his songs about his woman in his life, but also shows has other great songs "National Disgrace", Denvemolorado, Cats van bags feat brother ali is just plain sick, and trying to find a balance sets the tone for the rest of the album. dope dope album and makes Rhymesayers(which still as Soul Position(Blueprint and Rjd2)album of the year comming in oct)the top indy hip hop label of the year DEF Jux comes in second this year.
this is Rhymesayers at it's best with seven's travel's go pick this up. RhymeSayers, Definitive Jux, Weightless, is the new breed of dope hip hop. peace
