Rikki Tikki Tavi
: So often those childhood favorites don't hold the same charm as they did when you first saw them, but I was just as delighted as I was when I first saw this at 7 years old. I too had to dig this out at the local library to share it with my kids, and it was well worth the effort, they loved it as much as I did. PLEASE RERELEASE!
I've loved this movie since I was a little kid...and still do! i recommend to anyone who is an animated classics fan or anyone with children who is looking for good wholesome entertainment.
no one who's ever seen this movie as a child is likely to have forgotten it. who can forget the Cobra Queen's slithery line, "I am death"? or rikki's rascally (moongoosian, rather) heroism? this children's film made children feel something was at stake and pitted wonderfully matched adversaries against each other. i hope it gets re-released!
My 28mo old just loves this movie(He calls it the snake movie). He asks to watch it so much,(once a day) My wife hides it from him so it doesnt wear out. She was worried at first he might have bad dreams about snakes, But he loves the story, the music and the action. He knows the story so well, He tells us when things are going to happen as we watch it. I watched this on TV in the late 70's when it would come on and I grab it when I saw it on video, I would recommend this to movie any family.
nag and nagina scared the crap out of me as a kid, and i'm disappointed this is not available for sale. i managed to find copy in my local library, so my fiancee got to see it too. my only critique: the terrible, god-awful song the bird sings. i'm gonna remake this one day with a much better song.
