It's been a long, long time since I've heard two voices that seem to have been born and destined to sing together, and this is undoubtedly one of those seemingly rare, natural occurances. Clapton, with his characteristically craggy voice and King with his low-down, dirty drawl go together like red beans and rice. Compare this to one of those nights that you recall being in a crowded and cozy bar, listening to that perfect live Blues sound. You go home feeling good and humming the blues until you fall asleep... the sound and the style just seem to linger on your memory for days to come. That's the sound that I heard when I listened to this CD. My only question for the duo is: Just exactly which of you claims to be "The King?" Maybe we should leave that question unanswered and enjoy riding with the King, whomever that may be?
This collaboration between two major guitar players lives up to all the hype. Clapton's style is recognizable within two seconds on the title song, and BB's voice is as rich and powerful as ever. All songs are delightful. You gotta have this!
Very few CD's ever catch my attention through all 60+ minutes of music, and this CD is one of them. Clapton and King come together to create an outstanding collection of music pieces. All songs flow and carry with them the distinctive styles of these two legendary artists. Definitely as good as it gets.
Well have you? This audio sensory experience is sure to take you there. With the mixture of Clapton's over-driven Strat complimenting B.B's thick, fat Les Paul, there isi just no audio experience like it. The album is prophetic of what you experience as these guys really are the king's of their profession. One criticism you might say was that there is a lack of diversity, but who needs that when you've got this! I would pick a favourite track but their all so damn good that I couldn't chose. A definitwe must!
