Here are some customer reviews of
Revolución de Amor
: A very disappointing and souless effort by Maný. As soon as you hear the opening track with Santana, "Justicia, Tierra Y Libertad" you know right off bat that this is not the sharpest they've been. The 5 year lay-off might have indeed hurt them more than expected, as they probably should have written a new follow-up album to "Sueýos Liquidos" as soon as possible while they were on a roll. Everything on this album is so predictable and deriritive of their past albums it's not even worth buying. Unfortunately, they have struck out under the pressure of coming up with a follow-up to their last album.
I have been an admirer of Maný for many years now and believe Fher to be a literary genius. I cannot fathom the reasoning behind Henrik Eriksen's comments in his review about their latest album. Neither the reviews of Eriksen nor Christopher Keenan focus on the pure beauty of the lyrics which are incredibly powerful. And Eriksen's comments that there are too many love songs? Hang on, isn't the title "Revoluciýn de Amor"? The lyrics touch one's soul. This, together with the music, floods one's veins with passion, fire and excitement; sadness, tenderness and sensitivity; happiness and joy. This is an absolute must purchase for not only die hard Maný fans but those sensitive natured beings wishing their souls to be touched, hearts set on fire and pulses sent racing. Ten out of ten.
I have many thoughts on this album, Pros and Cons. Cons : 1. Maný has not seen an evolution in its music. You can place on song from their first album in Revolucion de Amor and you could barely see the difference. I guess they should broaden their horizons. They even repeat the lyrics of past songs ("yo te llore todo un rýo" in Mariposa Traicionera. Lack of creativity? 2. Many tracks in this album are of two radical types : political and love. Repetitive? 3. Fher's voice? What happened? Gaining rasp or burned out? 4. I was particulary bored in this album, except for some tracks such as Eres mi religion, Angel de Amor, Nada que perder and Sin tu cariýo and Sabanas Frias. Ay Doctor, Pobre Juan and the political stuff just sucks. Pros: 1. Maný goes into a rocker style more into the style on "Cuando Los Angeles Lloran" which is good. 2. Two great guests : Santana (Justicia Tierra y Libertad) and Ruben Blades (Sabanas Frias). 3. Great guitar riffs and arrangements by Sergio. 4. Good to see more tracks sung by Alex and debut by Sergio as singer. THEY HAVE HAD BETTER ALBUMS SUCH AS THEIR LAST 2! I HOPE WE CAN SEE THEM EVOLVE SOON!
Mana always comin up with new songs, this time they are sure to make you cry with their songs in a good way
