Resident Evil 4
: You'll know Resident Evil 4 for decades. If you think resident evil 4 sucks, well, f*ck u! This game kicks so much ass! This one is better than the gamecube version. This is the best RE game ever created. The graphics are great and the gameplay kicks ass! A lot of unlockables are to be unlocked. There are many reasons to play Resident Evil 4 over and over again. But, don't forget to leave your hand on the controller during cutscenes or you will die! If u have a PS2, get this or you might as well kill yourself. Buy it now! Dont talk, just buy it NOW! NOW!NOW!NOW!
I'm not a Resident Evil junkie. I played Veronica X and dabbled with one of the original ones on the original playstation, and that was about it. But Resident Evil 4 will blow you away.
First off, the graphics are fantastic! I bought this the other day and on my day off watching my newborn son, I decided to sit down and play for awhile. Yeah... Awhile was an understatement. My wife got home, asked what I did today and I had nothing... nothing to say except... Resident Evil 4 was fun.
This game will scare you. I don't care if you think it won't. It will. I think it's because it builds tension so well. You arrive in a remote community in search of the Presidents daughter and are quickly subdued into the carnage. After you explore the first house, you'll realize how cool of a game you are in.
You can slide a dresser in front of the door so people can't get it in. (This is a good idea). You can dive through windows to escape. You have new weapons and the controls are fluid... although you still can't RUN and SHOOT. You can Run.... stop and shoot... but you can't run and shoot. That is the only thing I can complain about.
I'm not gonna give plot away because half the fun is finding out all the twists that Resident Evil 4 has in store, but I will say... that this is unlike any Resident Evil 4 game you've ever played.
Gone is the stiffness of previous Resident Evil games. You have an open environment to explore. Explore how you choose. There are puzzles, but not overwhelming puzzles... this game is mostly about scares and violence.
Choose the right time to use your shotgun... sniper rifle with scope... rocket launcher... incideniary grenade... and of course the mystery weapon that I'm still working to get.
In Resident Evil 4, you also have to collect jewels so that you can buy goods from the merchant dealer who is a shady character himself. The first time he walks by a window when you're walking down the hallway and says something to you... you'll wonder if you should go or not.
Oh... and if you hear a chainsaw? RUN like hell. Seriously. Great game! Fantastic! I can't wait till I can sit down and play it again.
First i havent played the Gamecube version so im not going to disscuss why the cubes version is better and what not.Instead im going to tell you Ps2 owners why to buy this game.
Ok the game is great before I bought it I was skeptical about it that ps2 hardware wouldnt work and the controls graphics etc.
Well there are load times but they only last about 5-8 seconds which is tolerable. The controls are very responsive they take about an hour to get used to then youll feel right at home. The graphics look good probally not as good as the gamecube but still good the head shots have never looked so good.
The game is long which is a good thing im on chapter 5 and 17 hours into it and there are 6 chapters so theres a few more hours to play.Theres minigames after you beat it and a game were you play as Ada so plenty of game time you defiantely get your money worth. Lots of weaponry Im not sure as an accurate number. The P.R.L. 412 laser cannon and the Gunpowder Bowgun are some new weapons.Theres a couple of new costumes to unlock.
I only have one complaint while your playing a game the voice audio production from the villagers is just horrible sounds like Metal Gear from the ps1 all in all its a great game and if you havent played the gamecube version than most defianetly get this game.
RE4 it's a very good game. Good graphics and the position of the camera it's better than RE Outbreak, however the movement of the characters is a bit clumsy. Fortunately the weapons have a laser sight so it's easier for your to shoot, yoo can upgrade the weapons which are powerful and help you to escape of very rough moments. The AI makes of the characters a better game especially for the enemies, now it's not a game to wait and shoot the attackers, now they use weapons and run.
The game it's long and takes time to finish it, at least, it took me 1 week to finish (normal mode).
It's funny to see how they use Pesetas instead of Euros, and how they use the real Spanish National Police logo in the uniforms. I guees they came to North Spain to recreate the forests (not the life, Spain isn't a country of farmers).
Capcom has used the PS2 processor as much as they could to make a good game with the best graphics I've eever seen in a RE game, without a doubt the best game of the year.
O.K. First of all, many gamers already know Resident Evil 4 was previously released for the gamecube early this year. The game set a new standard for not just horror games, but action games ingeneral. I own Resident Evil 4 on both systems and I'd just want to point out the fact that both games are pretty much identical. The considered differences between the two games are the better graphics and non loading times in the gamecube version and the extra weapons, costumes, and (seperate ways) ada minichapter game feature in the PS2 version. Considering the differences I advice those who don't own either one to buy it for the overall action. Those who own the gamecube version who aren't die hard fans, I suggest who skip the PS2 version. Those who own a gamecube version and your a true Resident Evil fan, I suggest you get Resident Evil 4 for the PS2 if you can, but don't trade in your gamecube copy for the PS2 copy. Trying to put these two games together and judge them by their differences is like putting two identical twins together and judging them because one has a scar on his right arm and the other has a scar on his right knee. So as I close my review I'd like to recape on a more real time perspective with new rules.
NEW RULES
1.Gamers, stop comparing the very slightly better coloring detailed graphics of the gamecube Resident Evil 4 version to the PS2 version. Who else besides a clothes designer or a freak pays that much atention to these things. If you're bothered by this, you have other issues to worry about, if you know what I mean.
2.Resident Evil fans must stop complaining about the fact that there are no zombies in Resident Evil 4. I own all the other RE games, trust me, they were getting boring. Perhaps know in Resident Evil 5 the zombies will run and be more intelegent like the zombies in the remake of Dawn of the Dead. Maybe then you'll complain that their not zombies.
3.Gamecube owners must stop the hate. Hating the RE4 version of the PS2 by only comparing the graphics to their beloved gamecube version only proves these people are haters. Their jealousy over the fact that Resident Evil 4 is know on another system is beyond noticable and forces them to question themselves. If you bought a gamecube just for RE4 when it came out and was proud of this, yes, you need to stop. If you thought the gamecube was the master when RE4 came out then No, You're wrong, the gamecube or any other system can't compare to the PS enterprise. Finally, If you're only a gamecube and RE4 owner then just keep playing. "Some things in the world are better off not knowing, this is one of them".
