You Could Have It So Much Better
You Could Have It So Much Better

Here are some customer reviews of Plans :

I think this album is really good. It isn't as driving as Transatlanticism and is a little bit more mellow. Gibbard's lyrics are awesome, honest, and pretty abrasive at times. The rhythms and bass lines are Death Cab-esque. The album doesn't stick out as well as We Have the Facts... but it still is an awesome album with plenty of moving Death Cab ballads. Plans is a must buy.

If I could use one word to describe how I feel when I listen to this album, it would be gratified. I can listen to the album from beginning to end and feel the same amount of content as I did the time before. If you like and appreciate musical talent, you shouldn't have any problem loving this album as much as I do.

So DCFC signed to Atlantic and the indie world wrote them off. Didn't even give it a chance. Went by my favorite indie store this morning to pick up Plans, and they weren't carrying it. What a load of bollocks. I hold the view that if you like Death Cab for Cutie, you like DCFC and that's all there is to it...Barsuk (which is still distributing the vinyl special edition, you naysayers), Atlantic, or no label at all. It's f-cking Death Cab, you know? And this album doesn't change anything. No, it's not the same as We Have the Facts or Transatlanticism, but why would anyone want to hear the same album anyway? The band still sounds amazing, and Walla's production only shines a little more than before--it's not an overworked affair. Marching Bands of Manhattan, Summer Skin, I Will Follow You Into the Dark, and Crooked Teeth are pure pleasure, and that's not to discredit the rest of the album (except maybe Soul Meets Body), because in its entirety, Plans is beautiful. And I don't see the reason why true Death Cab fans should be required to take to the defensive immediately once the band signs to a major label. It's simply the same great band with a few new bells and whistles.

At first this may sound like a pop record, but listen to the melodies and lyrics, this is one great album. Don't listen to it once, put it in your CD player in your car and play it again and again. Each song is gem. This is so rare these days. The songs lift you up and make you feel good about life.

Great album, as usual the songs have amazing lyrics. My favorite song on here is Soul Meets Body.
