: I've been waiting for this and it was worth the wait. I read everything as soon as it arrived and have reread random sections every day since. more please!!!
As soon as I heard that this book was available to order (back in December) I put my name on the list. When I received the book, I rejoiced and settled in to my den with a "do not disturb" to my family. After all, I'd waited 10 years.. they had to understand! When I came up for air some hours later, Val Con, Miri, Edger and a lot of my favorites from the first three books (Can't give away too much) were back and their story leaped off the pages into my imagination. My mind soared with the images and twists of the tale and I could honestly say it was worth the wait. The story is told from multiple viewpoints which all meshed and wove together perfectly. The characters are "real", the world setting believable and the story is just fantastic. A finely honed and crafted tale of suspense and the art of war meshed within an over arc of a man and his wife fighting for a life together. All I can say is... I Dare, where are you?
It has been ten years since the first three books in the Liaden Universe series were published. Now comes an exciting follow-up that continues the story of the characters we came to know and love. Val Con and Miri have escaped the low-tech world of Vandar where they were stranded and have gone to find her unknown kinfolks. No sooner do they arrive on the planet of Lytaxin, however, than they find themselves in the middle of a full-scale invasion by hostile forces. Meanwhile, Val Con's family are searching desperately for them, as are their original enemies from the Department of the Interior. With non-stop action and wonderful characters, this book should please old fans and create new ones for this continuing saga.
Plan B is the long awaited sequel to Miller and Lees 80's Trilogy. The series was incomplete and at long last in their inimatible style the authors have provided a rip roaring answswer to many of the questions about events in the wonderful Liadin Universe of Conflict of Honors, Agent of Change and Carpe Diem. The authors have maintained the cobination of dramatic action and humor in the original tales and have preseved the flavor of the original books. A really Good read.
After waiting for Plan B for 10 years, I had my doubts as to whther it could live up to the previous three books. After a feverish few hours, I can report that it has! This book has unbelievable action, with complicated plot twists, characterizations, and writing that will leave your heart thumping. The humor is back from the previous books as well. I laughed out loud many times during the reading of this book. A 'must have' for anyone!
