Here are some customer reviews of
Philips HE592 Surround Sound Ear Buds (White)
: These headphones are awesome until u put them in your ear.
They have great sound and quality but u cant fit them in your ear ok, they fall out every 30 seconds! Especially if you run or jog they would fall out after it ried 2 put them back in! They made my ears so sore. What they say on the box is true they have great sound but the design is horrible!
Frankly, I was surprised to learn that there were so many negative reviews about these earphones, since I have been so happy with them as my iPod replacement phones. I had to go through a number of other headphones before I found these at rock bottom prices. I decided to try them out for the heck of it and immediately knew I would keep them.
Sound Quality: I find the sound quality to be superior. It could be slightly better, but not at this price. It is more than sufficient for everyday use and is very rich and full. I rarely get above half volume as it is simply too loud. But, when they are on loud, I notice no distortion whatsoever. I would say 98% of people who use these would consider them to sound absolutely great. I couldn't discern the difference in sound between these and the Shures I use to have.
Surround: You're not going to find yourself hearing noises behind you. This is not "true" surround. What it IS is a rich, full sound. The buds have small speakers on the outside that are meant to transmit sound around the entire ear and into the canal at slightly slower rates, giving you a full sound, but not one that feels like a 5 or 7 speaker set up.
Noise Canceling: These are technically not noise canceling phones, but work better at isolating you than many that are branded as such (including Philips' own "Noise Canceling" HN060 Earbuds, which were horrible in comparison to these). Assuming you get a good fit with the silicone wrappers in your ear canal on these phones, you will literally drown out the world. The silicone wrappers can be taken off (and fall off, I suppose), although Philips includes a second set.
Comfort: OK, I'm not sure that I've ever owned a pair of earbuds I found fully comfortable. I buy them more for the compact nature. These are no more or less comfortable than any pair I've ever owned.
Style: This may be nitpicking, but the style is very pleasing to me as well. On mine, the entire chord is white and rubber coating, something I like for my iPod. However, I find the chord a bit too long for use with the iPod since it's longer than it need to be to get from your ears to your waist or coat pocket, leaving lots of chord to be tangled or caught. Also, the carrying case is somewhat awkward to use and takes up a lot of room in your pocket, although it works well when I use them on my desktop. I would prefer a shorter and smaller unit.
Overall, I consider these to be very good buds. As they are, they're 4-star buds. Considering the price, they get 5 stars.
I have tried about 5 different brands of ear buds. Good and bad, these stay in my ears and sound the best. Are they good for sports or activities? No. They are great for just walking or sitting. Other's will pop out when you turn your head or sneeze. If your looking for sports head phones get behind your ear holders.
the ear buds give awesome sound. can put it real loud cause the surround sound quality spreads the music so it is not irritating to the brain. only problem is that the bud covers come off easy (in one week for me I had to keep puting them back on until i finally lost them). However, if you keep them in the case they came in, you should not loose them at all
