Now That's What I Call Music! 13
: now 13 is a great cd. all the songs i have heard on the radio or on vh1 or mtv. there are not a lot of songs that were overplayed in the past couple moths which is good because most times songs on nows were sogs that were overplayed on the radio and tv. it almost has all the songs i hoped for. there are 17 songs on the cd that i guessed would be on it. now 13 is a step up from now 12 100%. i am getting the cd tomorrow, normally i get it the day it comes out. here are some songs that would be great for now 14: jessica simpson/sweetest skin beyonce/dangerously in love r.kelly/ignition remix ashanti/rock wit u good charlotte/girls and boys
I own every volume in the NOW series, but the last few haven't been worth the purchase. This one has one real pop hit, Justin Timberlake's "Rock Your Body", as well as some lesser hits by B2K and J. Lo. Plus, the entire last portion is rock songs I've never heard of before. Some of these songs failed to chart or failed to reach the Top 40. I suggest that the NOW series ends, at least until the state of radio improves or they can put some ligitimate hits on an album. If you want any of these songs, buy the artist's album. This isn't worth the money or the time it takes to listen to it.
I don't recommend this album at all. I think that songs are way to old. And let's face it, there NOT CHART-TOPPING, like they say. Thge only chart-topping songs are: ROCK YOUR BODY-JUSTIN (#5 in the Billboard Hot 100) EXCUSE ME MISS-JAY-Z (#8 ) I CAN- NAS (#13) DON'T WANNA TRY-FRANKIE (#19 if you call that chart topping) IF YOU'RE NOT THE ONE-DANIEL (#15) That's it. Only Five Songs? That's not so good is it? Don't make the same mistake I did, ditch the NoW series, and just chill by the radio. The songs will eventually pass. You DON'T NEED THIS ALBUM!
ADD TO NOW 14 Avril Lavigne-Losing Grip Evanescence-Bring Me To Life Michelle Branch-Are You Happy Now? Linkin Park-Somewhere I Belong
When the "Now" series first started back in '98, it was actually pretty decent. Then sometime after about Now 7, it started going downhill and obviously hasn't stopped judging by this installment. "Rock Your Body" is a horribly overplayed, nothing special song. "Cry Me A River" would've been better. "I'm Glad" is one of the few decent songs on here and was actually one of J Lo's least successful singles. The next five songs are terrible and represent the horrible rap and R&B that has become so overplayed and repetitive over the last two years. Tracks 8, 9, and 10 are the only redeeming moments on this album and what saved it from a 1 star rating. "Don't Wanna Try" is a beautiful ballad. "If You're Not the One" is THE best song of the last year and the best ballad to hit pop radio in years. Daniel Bedingfield is fantastic and needless to say, this is the album's shining moment. "Big Yellow Taxi" was a moderate radio hit and a pretty good song. The rest of the tracks are downright awful. The Robbie Williams track was never even a minor hit here in the states. Stacie Orrico's "Stuck" and Coldplay's "Clocks" show some life and fairly good songs but the CD is already a lost cause by then. Don't buy this. Maybe if this CD flops the "Now" people will finally start to realize that the quality of their collections has been going downhill for the last few years. Actually popular music in general has been going downhill for the last few years. Such a shame.
