Here are some customer reviews of Lullaby :

Like Chuck's other books, Lullaby has a dark, intriguing premise, a hyper-fast plot, and a savage twist in the tail. It's a great read, a solid story, and Palahniuk fans will love it.

But yes, it would be fascinating to see Chuck stretch his style a little, since what's a literary breakthrough in book one is not so much by book five. And all his female characters (with the exception of the protagonist of "Invisible Monsters") are starting to bear a suspicious resemblance to Marla from "Fight Club." Lullaby is terrific, but I'm hoping for even more from Chuck in the future.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes Chuck Palahniuck's work. It has the same style writing, but is a different concept than Fight Club or Choke. But I really liked it. The book was full of unexpected turns.

The power of words has no equal. They can inform, inspire, motivate, pacify and entertain. Words can also hurt, deceive, and kill.

Kill?

You know that words have inspired others to kill, but what if words themselves could kill? In "Lullaby", the new novel by Chuck Palahniuk, words have exactly that power.

I'm not going to give anything away, because I want you to read it with no preconceptions or knowledge of the subject matter. If you've already read a review. Too late, but you'll still enjoy it.

Chuck has taken his ablilities in a slightly new (The book is still 100% vintage Palahniuk) with wonderful results.

Highly Recommended

This was my first novel by this author, and I loved it. I admit at first it was a little slow, but it got alot better fast. The characters are original, the plot is sprawling and humorous, and even makes you think. This is one of those books that you dont fully understand whats going on until the very last page. This book is part thriller, dramatic story, and comedy. This is why Chuck Palahniuk is in a class by himself!

If you liked Survivor, Fight Club, and Choke, just savor the feeling of a good re-read. Those books were terrific, but this is trendy rehash--in fact, it's sloppily written, just POOR. And I'm sorry--I really WANTED it to be great, as I'd looked forward to it for months. But not this time. Palahniuk is just repeating himself now, and it's sad, really, what his work is becoming.
