Love Story
: Vivian Green is the most superb artist I've heard this year. Yes, I know India, Alicia, and Jill Scott are all floating out there and those artists are great. However, Vivan Green takes you back to a time when R&B was REAL. She infuses R&B with jazz, classical and hip-hop to make a remarkable album.
 Vivian Green's love story is a CD very good debut. To think that this CD is only 8.99 is kind of crazy. This CD is great from a quality standpoint and Vivian's vocals are very good as well. Vivian is wearing her heart on her sleeve in this CD. I would have liked to have heard more music that is positive about love because on most of the songs she sounds as if love has never gone right for her. Next time Vivian, make more cheerful stuff!! Other than that small gripe, I think the CD is very good and definitely worth the price!
I first heard of Vivian Green or should I say I first heard her perform as the opening act at Maxwell's concert at the Beautiful Chene Park in Detroit this summer. I was like when is her CD coming out? She has an excellent voice. I can totally relate to the lyrics of all her songs, but my favorites are Tracks #6 Emotional Rollercoaster, #2 24 hour blue, #4 What Is Love?,#10 Fanatic and #12 Good to You. I purchased 5 of the CD's one for myself, and the rest for family members that I know can appreciate a really true vocalist. And she also Jammed on Showtime at the Appollo, she had the crowd rockin'. I hope she sells many CD's, I think she really deserves...props!
I myself like the writer from detroit first heard vivian green as the opening act for maxwell at the jones beach theater, she put it down i have been waiting for her cd to drop and it's finally here. not to take anything from the cd but she makes the songs sound even better live this one is a must for the collection i look forward to hearing more from ms green.
Twenty-three years old, I think not. This is an impressive debut from 23 year old, Philadelphia native, Vivian Green. She successfully combines all of the classic characteristics that have come to be know as soulful R&B music. Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, India.Aire, Alicia Keyes appeared to be the start of neo-classic soul female artists in an industry where commercial success has been male dominated. Vivian Green has done one thing that I believe these other artists have not been able to accomplish to date and that is revive classic R&B music and introduce it to the young hip-hop audience without compromising the integrity and beauty that is often associated with this genre of music. Another thing worth mentioning is that this young lady is definitely the truth. She is just as genuine and talented live as she is on disc. Digitally enhanced would definitely not be a phrase to describe this young lady or her music. She illustrates her ability to go from heart wrenching ballads on the soul stirring "What is love?" to the funky, head nodding "Fanatic". One can definitely expect to hear and see great things out this young lady. If you can appreciate good music, then this is definitely something that you don't want to miss out on.
