: I love this book! I generally will not buy a knitting book if it has just one or two patterns that I like. This book has a great collection of patterns in many categories. The patterns create attractive and unique gifts, and I especially like the section on color.
 I like this book. I made my own version of the hourglass sweater (plain stockinette was too boring, I did a k1, sl1 round every 8 rounds or so to give the mohair-silk blend I used a little more texture and to play up subtle color variations in the yarn) and I've given this book as a gift. Do check the errata at purlsoho.com though! Lots of the patterns had errors which an experienced knitter can probably easily self-correct, but newer knitters will definitely be stumped by. I've heard later editions may be corrected, but better safe than sorry, right?
Sets a new standard for knitting books in its presentation and inspiration. From the angora baby booties to the yoga bag and hats and sweaters and poncho, my winter knitting projects are all set! Will definitely be visiting the Purl store in Soho on my next NYC weekend.
I own a lot of knitting books, and I have to say that this one is by far my favorite. I love the author's description of the use of color, and different combinations based on the color wheel. I've always had trouble finding patterns that are up-to-date, but still aren't off-the-wall and not wearable. All the patterns are great (...)
I was very excited to buy this book when it first came out because I am a customer of Purl, the author's store in NYC. The book is great, the patterns are easy to read and the author gives commentary as to her inspiration for each piece as well as tips only a pro would know. The photography is beautiful, making this book a wonderful present for anyone who knits.
