I loved this toy. My son recieved this for his birthday. I am however very upset that we can't used it due to the lack of refills. I would like to know why any company would make a toy that requires something they don't sell to work. I feel that this is very wrong to do to a child. I would hope that the company would either recall it so that I can return it or tell me where I can purchase the needed items to use it.Thank you!
I find it very helpful in helping my children learn their colors and initial consanant sounds for those colors. They also work on their fine-motor skills. I use this toy with kids 4 years and up and even my 3 yr old plays with it a bit. I just wish the refills were easier to find.
Two or more children or adults can work on it at one time; the drawers are a handy place to store the pegs; it's nice looking and easier to store and carry than the old version. In addition, the angle of the screens, which are 90 degrees, seem to be easier to work on that the original Lite Brite which sits on an angle. It is also steadier to work on (it slips less) and is an excellent way for our child to work on fine motor skills and finger strengthening for writing in kindergarten, while having creative fun. Although the toy comes with an ample supply of regular pegs, and 30 "power pegs", there are no "Lite Loops" included. Our child was disappointed because the "Lite Loops" are featured on the t.v. advertisements for this product (and at the time of this writing, the "Lite Loops" are not available from Amazon.com as an accessory) This makes a great present and a toy that is fun and creatively educational at the same time. |
