"Irresistible" is a great sophomore album by a very talented young singer. I was pleasantly surprised by her first album, "Sweet Kisses", which I bought on the strength of a couple of hit singles. I ended up liking the whole thing--it is very easy to listen to. Her second album is a bit different--more edgy,danceable,and R&B. But she does this stuff VERY well. Favorite tracks: "Irresistible"(incredibly catchy), "A Little Bit"(neat vocals), "Hot Like Fire"(very funky), "His Eye is on the Sparrow" (great gospel),and "When You Told Me You Loved Me"(beautiful ballad that really shows off her voice). I don't think there's anyone out there putting out pop music as catchy as Jessica Simpson. Buy this and give it a try-if you like pop/dance music, you'll love it. Great job, Jessica!
At the end of 1999, Jessica Simpson released her album "Sweet Kisses". It spawned successful singles such as "I Wanna Love You Forever", "I Think I'm In Love With You" and her duet with boyfriend Nick Lachey "Where You Are". It was a fairly credible effort, and although her voice is powerful and very mature, she lacked the spunk, sexiness and selling sounds of that of Christina Aguilera and moreso Britney Spears. With her new album "Irresistible", Jessica is certainly a lot more grown up and has developed a hotter R&B sound, whcih should no doubt, help this album up the charts and be placed alongside "Christina Aguilera" or "Oops I Did It Again". The album opens with title track "Irresistible", a funky up-beat pop spliced with R&B groove that opens with the familiar guitar strumming that has opened such tunes as TLC's "No Scrubs", Pink's "There You Go" and the Spice Girls track "Holler". Then it picks up the pace for what is sure to be one of the biggest hits of the year. Not wanting to slow down any time soon, the following two tracks "A Little Bit" and "Forever In Your Eyes" keep the grooves in motion. "A Little Bit" is one of my faves and certainly has the single potential, and with its instantly catchy chorus, it should be a fave of many listeners. "Forever In Your Eyes" whcih I thought would turn out to be a ballad, is a little more toned down, but still funky and reminds me of the sounds Mikaila belted out for her album. "There You Were" lets the pace slow down, as Jessica and latin star Marc Anthony (Who has previously duetted with both Tina Arena and Jennifer Lopez) sing together on this beatiful track. "What's It Gonna Be", is the kinda material that would of sat perfectly on "Sweet Kisses", a little disappointing, but still an upbeat pop track, sweet to the ear. From here, the album switches from upbeat R&B groove to soulful ballad. "When You Told Me You Loved Me", "For Your Love" and the beautiful "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" all let your heart melt as Jessica belts hers out with these tunes, whilst properly placed in between to keep the energies flowing is "Hot Like Fire", a ripper of a tune which will have you dancing in no time and "I Never" which is kinda like an upbeat R&B ballad. Overall a fantastic album, whcih is several steps up from "Sweet Kisses". All pop and R&B lovers should grab a copy. NOW!
Jessica Simpson really shows how much she's grown since her debut with "Sweet Kisses" which was full of tinybopper and sugar pop music. Now Jessica really shows that she's no longer a teenager. Plus she wheres a bit more clothes than most female singers and she's sooooooooo hot!!! This album will grasp your attention with upbeat songs that show her maturity like "Irresistible" "I Never" and "Hot Like Fire". Other enjoyable upbeat songs consist of "A Little Bit" "Imagination" and "What's It Gonna Be?" And how can I forget to mention the incredable ballads like "When You Told Me You Loved Me" "To Fall In Love Again" and "For Your Love"? Also the Marc Anthony duet is just amazing with its beautiful lyrics and romantic music which really gets you in a loving mood. I love every song on here except "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" because I'm not a HUGE fan of gospel. This album really shows how much Jessica has grown up and I'm sure you'll agree.
This Woman has made a career of belching out awsome tunes from "I wanna Love You Forever" to "I think i'm in love". With her new lover Nick Lachey by her side and with her gandoise voice there is no way this Cd can suck. this cd includes her already # 1 hit "Irresistible" and her fture number one hits "There you Were" with Marc Antony and a definite Billboard topper "What's it gonna be". No matter what way you look at it, This Cd is truly irresistible
