Here are some customer reviews of
Invisible Touch
: "Land Of Confusion" and the title track, while being huge hits, I think are still amazing songs. But that's not all... there are also some other tracks that are worth checking out, the complex "Domino" and the ballad "Throwing It All Away".
All I can say is that Invisible Touch is a great CD. I love every second of each song. The ballad In Too Deep is incredibly heartwrenching. Go and buy this CD. It's worth the money. Buy it new.
I wish this album would disappear. Invisible Touch is an embarassment to everybody involved in making it. It also insults the intelligence of listeners. Songs like Invisible Touch and Land of Confusion are an obvious attempt to garner the attention of pre-cognitive record buyers. However, Anything She Does and Throwing It All Away are good pop songs. Thus, two stars. DW
I like every song on this CD. Domino may be the best. I like the production as well.
This album proves that the band's strategy of going into the studio without any music written, and just making it all up as they go along (which they did first in 1983 to produce their self-titled album) not only works, but works quite well indeed. There's not a mediocre track on this entire album; every single one is a standout. The songs on this album range from light, fun pop (the title track and "Anything She Does") to dark and intense ("Tonight, Tonight, Tonight," "Domino") to poignant, moving ballads ("In Too Deep," "Throwing It All Away"). The song that really inspires me, and my personal favorite on the album, is "Land of Confusion," a strong, rocking pop song with a powerful message. While I have grown to love material from both the Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins eras of Genesis, that song--and this album--still stands out in my mind.
