Here are some customer reviews of IOGEAR GCS62 MiniView Micro KVM Switch : I had this thing up and running as advertised in less than 5 minutes. This kvm is by far the best deal out there; other products either require power and/or additional kvm cables.... This product will allow you to keep your old computer as a workhorse rather than turning it out to pasture (or the glue factory!). After hooking up 2 computers (1 running Windows 2000 Pro other running Windows NT legacy), I found streaking (thin white streaks) across the screen using one (1st) computer but ok on the second computer - maybe this is what many people refer to as "video problems". Streaking was VERY minimal but annoying. My monitor can support refresh rates as high as 85 Hz. I reduced the refresh rate first to 75 Hz and then to 72 Hz. At 72 Hz the streaking went away, and at 75 Hz I saw reduced streaking. Question is whether there is noticeable difference between 72 Hz and 85 Hz - answer probably is no, but that is a judgement call. Most monitors anyway support 60-75 Hz, but what about folks with 'superior' monitors. BTW my second computer is still set at 85 Hz and no streaking on that one even at 85 Hz (Mystery !!). Open questions are: 1. whether this "issue" is graphics card dependent - since I have two different graphics cards on my 2 computers 2. is it the monitor connector related 3. Will one computer do better than the other (i.e. unequal performance). Otherwise the product is sleek and good looking. Hotkeys work great- very convenient. Monitor connectors for the 2 computers could be improved. Manual is very basic. If you are looking for a low cost option for regular use, I would recommend this product. However I have not used any higher end KVMs and would not know how they compare in 'streaks' or otherwise It's not the largest KVM out there, but it works well for two machines, and for the money, it's an excellent buy. Hooks up in a flash, and works like a charm. The switch works great. I thought I was having a problem with it randomly switching between the two computers, but then I realized that this was a 'feature'. So other than it being a bit too easy to accidentally enable this feature, the switch is good. Anyways, you can get it back to normal by hitting spacebar. ;> I just got a new computer for Christmas and needed a KVM switch to use my keyboard, monitor and mouse on both my old and new computers. I was looking at other KVM switches, but saw this one at Fry's and bought it for $.... It is a great product. Worked fine first time, every time. No s/w to install. Controlled only by a keyboard hot key. No moving parts to break or wear out. And when you consider that it has 2 sets of 6 ft. cables built into the switch it is much cheaper than the competitors switches (have you seen what they charge for 2 sets of 6 ft. KVM cables these days!). Takes up almost no space and can be positioned under the desk if you wish. Great simple design, reliable, and inexpensive, considering 2 sets of cables are built in. Highly recommend it.
