Here Come the Brides - The Complete First Season
: Thank you Sony for deciding to release this set. It took a long time for this show the be released, but it is well worth the wait. I have and will continue to order extra sets as gifts (beside my own). I hope that is an encouragement to release the 2nd year of HCTB. Please give us Special Features!! It would mean a lot to hear from the principle actors while they're still around, as well as the production team.
HCTB remains one of the best written shows ever. The entire ensemble was television perfection, let alone rich in star power. The hugely talented Broadway actor Robert Brown delivered what I consider in my book to be THE very best lead in the history of the small screen. Adding Mr. Brown to the highly talented cast resulted in a chemistry with no equal. HCTB provides family viewers with examples of high moral values and exemplary character. Occasionally there are some mild adult themes, but nothing higher than a PG rating. They just don't make them like this one anymore.
Well acted with engaging characters and story-lines, I was amazed that this show still works so well almost forty years later! A definite thumbs up!
This is what I have been waiting for for years!!!!
Loved this show as a young girl and have always wanted to see it as it aired orginally!!!!
This is the best belated Birthday gift I could get!!!!

Listen up. The opening music for the first season of "Here comes the Brides" was MUSIC ONLY. It was always that way. I put this review up here because I have seen dozens of these posts with complain about the song being omitted. It was never there in the first season. Surely you seen this with other TV shows? So relax. If they release a season 2, I'm sure it will be there.
It will be a GOOD summer with Here Come The Brides, That Girl ("Diamonds...Rainbows" May 2), Alice ("Kiss my grits!" June 27th) and Family Affair ("Good old Mr. French" June 27th) all coming to DVD! For more info on these titles, go to tvshowsondvd.com or moviesunlimited.com. Still waiting for "The Wonder Years"!!! And for us Lucy fans, "The Long, Long Trailer" comes to DVD on May 9th. Last but certainly not least, Judy Garland's "Summer Stock" makes it to DVD on April 25th. Just thought I'd share the good news with fellow couch potatoes.
