Here are some customer reviews of Harvey :

I have practically worn out my VHS tape of this delightful film, I watch it over and over and never tire of it! Josephine Hull gives a hysterically funny performance which I believe won her an Oscar, if I'm not mistaken. I am anxiously awaiting the DVD, at least I can't wear it out!!

"Harvey" is one of THE best classics made. Great and superb
comic acting from Josephine Hull. She is wonderful. No wonder she got the Academy Award. Jimmy Stewart is marvelous. What would have been great was at the end, when Stewart as Elwood P. Dowd walks away from the sanitarium gats and down the road on the hill, they could have shown like a ghostly image of a rabbit to show the audience that the rabbit was there all the time. I was waiting for that to happen when I first saw it, but never did and I thought "Gee, that's disappointing." That didn't stop me from watching it countless times. I love it, and it's a great
way to relax from a hard day.

I became a huge Jimmy Stewart fan when he died because they gave all his movies on TCM. I saw this movie and it made me feel so warm inside and happy to be alive. I appreciate these great classic movies even though I'm only 17 and I think everybody should buy these movies especially if they're Jimmy Stewart movies.

Mr. Elwood P. Dowd, a man of independent means and with a thrust for life. He lives with his dependent sister (Veta Louise Simmons) and niece. He also has a unique friend (Harvey) and drinking partner. His friend seems to be the center of controversy; you see (or don't' see) he is a pooka. This of course disrupts Veta's social life and so it is time for Elwood to go to Chumley Rest (a place where friendly people offer to bathe you.)

Will Veta see the error of her ways in time?
Will Cecil Kellway (Dr. Willie Chumley) get cold beer and Akron?
What is to become of Harvey?

They had to make the rabbit a bit taller to accommodate Jimmy Stewart's height so he could still look up.

Have you ever wondered what would have happened if Christopher Robin didn't leave Hundred Acre Wood? Well, Harvey, or more correctly, Elwood P. Dowd will show you. Elwood is a man of simplicity, doing what he enjoys, and making friends all along the way. In the end, he reminds us that it isn't the destination but the travel to it that's important. This movie is a feel-good "must see".
