Hard
: Jagged Edge manages to stay a cut above the rest of the urban male groups with the release of their fourth album HARD. Jagged Edge kicks of their latest effort with the engaging single "Walked Out Of Heaven" a soulful ballad that finds them longing for the romance they once had with that special lady. Brian Michael Cox handles the production on the first single and he does an admirable job. Stand out tracks on this album include "Visions" a beautiful track produced by Jermaine Dupri, the title track "Hard" a signature sound known to JE, and "Trying To Find The Words" another ballad with those lush JE harmonies. When all is said and done this album is well rounded balancing Ballads and uptempo club bangers, this is a near classic album.
I like the song because when i hear it i reminds of all the reasons why i love my boo and how i would feel if he had to leave or if we were to part.
I've always been a huge J.E because they know how to mix trendy hooks with sweet love ballads. This album is no different and that's what makes it such a plus. They stuck to what they are good at and for that they should be applauded. The song "What's it like" is truly amazing. It is the type of lyric that you sit your girl down to, and say, "this is how i wanna be". I appreciate that, because of that i appreciate Jagged Edge.
In a world of one hit wonders, I must say that it is extremely refreshing to have these guys around. They are the most consistent group that is releasing R&B music today. I appreciate the brothers staying together...not venturing out doing solo projects and expanding egos. I love every JE album and this is by far there best to date. My favorite songs have to be "I Don't Wanna" and "What's It Like". Those are R&B slow jams at its finest!! No one, except, of course, The Pied Piper is releasing better quality music today. Much success to JE in advance...this one will surely go multi-platinum. How about a Grammy this year people...?
Well, I am a Jagged Edge fan, so I was glad to finally hear some new material. I think this album was a personal account of the difficulties facing them as a group, as well as young, successful, black, men in today's world. Having a celebrated status is hard, literally and figuratively. I can appreciate the growth of the group as they venture on without Jermaine Dupri. Jagged edge has always stayed true to their own style, roots, and image. There is a little something for every taste. This project is no exception. If you're a fan, Check it out!
