Down to Earth
: Down to Earth is a superb return to making music after a six year absence since Ozzmosis. All the songs are bold and fresh. If you liked Ozzmosis, this is in the same arena. They both bring back the classic Sabbath sound with a new twist. If you are an Ozzy or Sabbath fan I would suggest getting this album. Down to Earth is the best metal album to come out this year.
Unlike Ozzmosis (which is still a great album in its own right) Ozzy seems to figure out that fans want Rock, not the slower rock that was on Ozzmosis. Gets Me Through is possibly the best fan tribute song that anyone could possibly write and if you don't think so then you write in and tell this reviewer the name of the group, cd title and song and I will check and find out. Facing Hell is just a old fashioned rock song that is real catchy and a real great song. Dreamer should have been put on a little later in the cd as to provide a place to catch your breath. No Easy Way Out is a song that is a little hard to grow on you for the first few times that you listen to it but you will eventually grow into. That I Never Had is a great song with a catchy chorus. You Know...(Part I) could possible have been the only song that the Great Ozzy could have left off (possible filler...Dreamer). Junkie is another great rock song and the only time (so far) that you will hear Ozzy say any major swearing on any of his cd's (he says f--k). Running Out Of Time is once again a slow, but hard rock song, one of the best songs on the album. Black Illusion seems like it will become another over-played song on the radio but it is a great song to kick back and listen to. Alive is another great rock song. Can You Hear Them is another example of Ozzy showing his Paranoid side. All in all this is a great cd.
Ozzy has once again proved why he continues to sell millions worldwide. His voice is magnificent in the new "Down to Earth" cd. Unfortunately, you do not hear Zack W. on leads like in Ozzmosis but overall this cd is excellent! The melodies and lyrics are original but true Ozzy classics. Ozzy sticks to the old Ozzy that we all love. If you are an Ozzy fan this cd will please you.
Yes he is and all you have to do is listen to Down to Earth trak 3 ( Dreamer ). This is Phil Collin's " Against All Odds ". Just in case you don't want to belive this the next track is called " No Easy Way Out ". This just a big hahahahahha from Ozzy or maybe he has run out of ideas. Who can blame him after all these years :). Anyway, the CD is not bad and the big reason is Zakk Wylde is playing with Ozzy again. The band is very good and this cd shows what they can do ( without Phil C. :) ). I am an Ozzy fan and would recommend that if you are new to his music not to buy this but anything else he has done first. This maybe the last Ozzy recording so you may want it but it lacks much.
Unbelievable, Ozzy is back to the edge with "down to earth" his first solo album in 6 years...since 1995's "Ozzmosis" Back to the 80s, with every song hard, with a few power ballads that everyone loves. Personally speaking, I think this is his best work since 1982's "Diary Of A Madman" Every second of this 6 year wait was worth it. I'd like to congratulate Ozzy and crew on a job excellently done. A+ I really hope Ozzy can debute at number 1 on the billboard, I think he has a chance, and definately deserves it. Good luck Ozzy, keep at it. OZZY OZZY OZZY !
