Here are some customer reviews of Batman Begins :

First i Hated it,now i love it.
The first time I listened this score i was very disapointed.
i was waiting Zimmer cool tunes and Howard great use of orchestra.
Well...we have a nice (but bland) Howarish love theme, and the rest very Zimmerish score.
this score have all the syles possible:
Experimental music:track 1
Dramatic music:4,6,12
Love music:7,11
Action music:3,8,10
Suspense and terror music:5,6,9
this score have a amazing main theme heard in track 3 and 10.Also in the end credits(the best track, not in the cd.Please zimmer can you send me more music to my email???:P).But zimmer and howard not wanted to score a normal superhero movie.
A zimmer interview you can read here:
http://music.ign.com/articles/624/624641p1.html
Its a amazing score.
The only negative aspect is some great epic /action tunes are missed in cd release.Zimmer says the action music is not good in cd release, but i think its worst some moody music. This score with 2 more action/epic tracks could be the perfect score.I will be waiting for a promo ;)
Buy it!!!!

In this new Batman series the cast and director has changed. And so has the composer. Actually one of the biggest films of the year is scored by two composers that are best friends and have always wanted to work together on a project. They are none other than Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard. Two established and leading composers of this age. By listening to this score the first two tracks you can clearly tell the sound is pure Zimmer using his usual dynamic synthesizers and while there is an orchestra its there for Howard. The listener can tell when its Howard and when its Zimmer. Being a big fan of Zimmer and adoring his scores to the Peacemaker, Drop Zone, Pacific Heights, Backdraft, and Gladiator this one is unlike his previous compositions. This one is dark, brooding, and mysterious yet it is very fun to listen to. Though Hans is known as an 'action music' composer so we never really get enough of his horror music. Well, anyone how is like Me and wants more dark music from this great composer then look no further than Batman Begins! The album starts out with the sound of enormous bat wings flapping away! There are some other bat noises created by electronic and orchestral strings in track five which this one a scary one. The score has a theme and a two sub-themes. In My opinion they are much different than the themes that Danny Elfman and Elliot Goldenthal composes for the earlier films. The sixth track is also a great one. The main theme is in full force in track ten and its an incredible listen! Two things I love what Zimmer does in this score is in track three he uses a huge bell sound and there is a moment in track four where a children's choir is present. It sounds really gothic. Howard's love theme is really a dramatic one and is remicent of his earlier works such as the Village. Its quite lovely. In fact, Zimmer and Howard takes a different approach to this Batman score than the other greats did with their's. The entire score is really perfect for the film. I love the other scores that Elfman composed and I thought that Goldenthal did terrific job as well but this one is the most different of all of them and the most dynamic. I think this score is Oscar quality, no question about it! If you are a big fan of these composers I strongly recommned you purchase Batman Begins today!

I undoudbtedly enjoy this movie, and the music only added so much to it in my opinion.

Not having a realtive theme or certain structure, this score is mostly atmospheric and moody; just what the movie needed. It was dark, gritty, uplifting, and overall a very moving score.

It's not really possible to compare the score for 'Begins' to the other movies' scores; it is entirely different, but, since I'm really more for the emotional and atmospheric music, I preferred this one more.

Loved the movie, finding it a lot more thoughtful, subtle and character-focused than I expected.
This soundtrack does lack a bold hero theme, such as the easily recognisable Danny Elfman music from the first two films, or the garish and derivative Elliot Goldenthal stuff from the other two. However this approach suits the film perfectly as you can see the potential for such a theme to slowly develop as the characters do in each film.
Some really good Hans Zimmer action pieces with pulse-pounding bass, complemented nicely by some softer pieces guided by James Newton Howard, mainly to accompany the film's bittersweet flashback sequences.
You can be forgiven for thinking the album is one long piece, as most tracks have elements of each other, even if only in the background.
Perhaps not the sort of background music for your cocktail party or family gathering. However if you enjoy sitting in the dark and practicing your brooding (well, who doesn't?!), then this is just the ticket.
And a couple of tracks (8 and 10) make a nice addition to your daily workout background mix.
Seriously, if you really like the film then you'll appreciate this. More subtle and gritty than any superhero soundrack I've ever heard, but I think it's for the best.
A classy beginning, not what I expected, and a solid base to build on for the next film.

I bought the Batman Begins soundtrack and i am impressed... the music is very epic and dramatic. I would have to say that MOLOSSUS is the BEST track on the album... I already have listened to it while i worked out earlier today its fast pace pumps me up.. especially when I punched my heavy bag really fast!!
