: Have been following Amos Lee et al. for several years now. It's great to see such a talented singer/songwriter receive the national exposure and promotion that Amos and the band is now experiencing.
Amos' music and lyrics are fresh, honest and telling. He truly is going to be a star! Now go out and buy this album, support the band, and show the big, nasty record industry that we won't be force fed anymore vapid, overproduced, manufactured crap.
Great blues CD. I bought it for my husband for Fathers Day and he loved it. I heard about it from a tech at work whose father had told him.
I first saw Amos Lee when he was the opening act (twice!) for Vigilantes of Love at the Tin Angel in Philadelphia. VOL was great (as always), but so was this fabulous, previously unheard-of (by me, at least!) singer/songwriter Amos Lee, who, with a singularly unique presence, resurrected and then transcended the sound of Donny Hathaway, the voice of 70's era Bill Withers and "First Take"-era Roberta Flack. I have been pleased to see Amos' name surface for the Nora Jones tour, then touring with Bob Dylan, and, next, what I presume will be a long career. The new CD is brilliant.
Amos Lee is absolutely awesome. Different from a lot of the mainstream music you hear today. He is like the male Norah Jones. Very mellow, with great lyrics. His music gave me chill bumps the first time I heard it.
Music simply doesn't get better than Amos Lee. I had the pleasure of meeting Amos and seeing him perform in late '04. Words can't do it justice. He has star presence, and I can't wait to see him blow up.
