When my best friend Christine decided to come to college with me, of course we decided to room together. We also had very similar majors and took a lot of the same courses. She has had problems with school all her life due to dyslexia but she’s made it through none the less. She found a group for learning disabled college students to help her out with her school work when I couldn’t. While I graduated in four years, she took six. But, I told her not to worry about that as many students who had no problems took that long to graduate.

The time has finally arrived. I am slightly nervous but I know I can complete the task in front of me. I am starting my firefighting training course today. When I had children, I made a habit of doing exactly this, and I even had one teacher come to me with tears of gratitude in her eyes to tell me how much it meant to her.
